Hands buried deep in the earth and dirt beneath my nails; how every Saturday would be if the world was perfect and winter never came.
This past Saturday, I was able with the help of a friend to get this year’s garden started. Tomatoes, peppers, herbs and some vegetables yet to be chosen. The basics of the garden are simple. Concrete blocks arranged and filled with dirt. The spaces within the blocks are used for herbs and marigolds. The marigolds act as a natural pestilent. My garden will get love, light, coffee grounds and water.
And as silly and corny as it sound, it will also feed and renew my heart.
If I am lucky and have done my job right, I will also get something to eat.
