100 Words on Evidence

This meme has run across my socials multiple times in the last couple of weeks.

In 1994, I thought I knew so much but the evidence was weak. Since then I’ve learned and unlearned so many things.

When I learned that I had ADHD, I had to unlearn shame and guilt. I am forgetful, I am impulsive and I make mistakes. I am a human with ADHD.

Unlearning that I wasn’t weak or irresponsible was easier in the face of evidence.

Looking at evidence and facts has also helped with the unlearning of prejudices I grew up. Critical thinking and lifelong learning are key to undoing generations of hate and blind allegiance to false convictions.
